Digestion

To feed your cells requires several steps. 1. Ingestion - you must eat the food. 2. Digestion - you must break the food into smalller molecules that can be picked up by the GI cells and passed to your blood 3.Absorbtion - your GI cells must pass the broken-down food from your gut to your blood 4. If you fail to do any of these, the food will pass on through and out - excretion. These are all pretty much one-way processes, except for ingestion. Once you have broken food down, you can't put it back together in your gut; Once you have passed it to the blood, you can't pass it back into the gut; And once you have excreted it, you can't -- well, you get the idea.
